Active in the church
during the communist era, Pavel
and Julia (Julka) Raus served God and His people in
evangelism and discipleship. Having earned degrees in Engineering (Pavel) and agriculture
(Julka), they worked in the state run businesses during the day and ministered
at night and on weekends. Following
the Velvet Revolution and new found freedoms, they founded and developed the
largest evangelical publishing house in the
Czech
Republic
. In
preparation for continued ministry, Pavel earned M.A.s in Clinical Psychology
and Theology from
Wheaton
College

Wheaton
,
Illinois
. They
returned home and continue in Parakletos ministry. Pavel
and Julia have two teenage daughters.
For more than 30 years, Pavel has been
involved with the Church in the Czech Republic in discipleship, mentoring,
evangelism, and lay leadership roles. For the past 20 years, he has been joined
by his wife Julia in these ministries. During the communist era, Pavel worked as
a research scientist while using his remaining time to minister in underground
development of the church.
Following the fall of communism, Pavel
and Julia started the Christian publishing house Navrat Domu which now is the
only evangelical publisher in the Czech Republic. Pavel, Julia, and their two
daughters moved to the U.S. for two years, during which Pavel earned graduate
degrees in Clinical Psychology and Theology at Wheaton College. They returned to
