"Parenting Teenagers" in the Church Cirkev Bratrska Prague 6 - Dejvice

Description: The seminar was organized for the parents of a teenage girls
church group "Ladies' Club" but also other parents were invited. It
started with a lunch and informal social time.
Then
thee seminar dealt with the problems and issues related to the parenting
teenagers. We first focused on the inside look of that period from the
perspective of teenager. What do they go through, what is happening with them
and how does that affect them. The purpose of that part was to increase the
awareness of the parents of the developmental struggles the child goes through
in a hope that better understanding will bring about an appreciation of that
nice but also difficult period.
Second
part of the seminar comprised some ideas for parents how they can help their
children and what kind of struggles and challenges they go through during those
years.
Response of the Participants:
There has been a lively discussion in which parents shared
their experiences with their children. At the end each participant shared a
thought which they found interesting, encouraging or stimulating.
